Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Salem Al-Wali met in the Russian capital, Moscow, with his counterpart in the Russian Federation, Deputy Minister Grozdev Alexey , and discussed ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination in economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The two sides discussed opening up broad horizons in trade and industrial relations, encouraging investment, and emphasizing the importance of developing strategic relations and partnerships in the production and supply of food and medicine, and the contribution of Russian companies to reconstruction, especially the maintenance and development of Russian projects in Yemen, in addition to reviving the Joint Supreme Committee and forming the Yemeni-Russian Businessmen Council to activate the role of the private sector through partnership between the two countries and contribute to achieving sustainable development and strengthening the Yemeni economy.
The two sides also discussed the importance of activating maritime shipping lines to allow imports to reach Yemen and facilitating all transactions of Yemeni traders and businessmen, especially in the field of visas, to improve the business environment and joint investment. Ideas were also exchanged on potential projects and everything that reflects the two countries’ commitment to strengthening economic ties and expanding cooperation in various sectors. The meeting concluded with an invitation to the Russian side to visit the interim capital, Aden, and activate bilateral relations and exchange official visits. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the Russian Federation, Dr. Ahmed Salem Al-Wahishi.
